Art HistoryAfter having finished an apprenticeship as a bookbinder in Nuremberg I studied history of art in Cologne and Erlangen. Since then, my main topic has been Baroque art, especially the applied and graphical arts of that period (publications). But I am also interested in contemporary architecture. I have just finished a study on the Augsburg goldsmith Abraham II Drentwett (1647-1729) whose silver works, wax sculptures and engravings can be found in numerous collections in Europe and America. Until 2003, I gave guided tours (also in English) in Munich (churches, old town) and Freising (Diocesan Museum, Cathedral Hill). Afterwards I lived in Sant Just Desvern near Barcelona and offered guided tours to Catalonia and its capital. Since 2009 I live in Nuremberg and give public talks in German on various art topics.. |
